Pulp. Development.

Running with the chocolate box idea I decided to create a display text/logo for the lid which would resemble the shape of a chocolate box. It also meant I could achieve 3-dimensional effects by changing the shade or colour of certain sides, these sides might could also be finished with a foil or spot varnish to elevate the effect.

Here I experimented with this notion to make it pop from the page. Pinks were used to further convey the chocolate box aesthetic.

Pink resonates with chocolate and was similar enough yet not the purple of cadburys or milka or the dark browns of green & blacks or divine. Also when combined with black it gives great impact. In terms of a printing cost retrospect it also meant the job could be one colour and a coloured stock meaning it would be seen as cost effective.
