An obvious place to start when branding and promoting a film is the cinema. It's the area which you are guaranteed to reach a large portion of your target audience. Within a cinema there are also many methods of promotion about that of a cinematic trailer.
The Space:
Cinema promotion begins outside and continues into the lobby. Outside usually consists of either posters or large scale banners. In special cases such as the skyfall promotion below, it can take over a large scale space.
Inside can also involve large scale posters and banners, as well as cut outs and installation pieces.
Tickets:
Cinema tickets could be utilised to promote an upcoming film, they are handled by all cinema visitors and sometimes even saved as a memento.

Reflections:
An interesting range of packaging and promotion is available for the designer within the cinema. Using the aspects mentioned above would give the target audience a pretty firm idea of that films presence. It's also interesting how you can take someone almost on a journey from the outside, in to the lobby, through their snacks and ticket and eventually in the cinema screen itself.
UV would also lend itself nicely to a dark pre-movie cinema with a budget which can afford to place large UV lights in a room for the promotion period.
